Ask DST #193 – Marvels, Monsters, and Miscellaneous

“Ask DST” is something that Diamond Select Toys has been doing on their Facebook page for quite some time now. I only just realized this to be honest, so I’m going to start posting their Q&A’s here whenever they have new ones. If you want to ask your own questions of DST, just follow this link, “like” the Diamond Select Toys Facebook page, and click where it says “Ask DST” near the top, and fill out the form. It’s that easy!

Why aren’t there any characters from the film X-men First Class in your marvel select line ? Will there be more film based characters in your future marvel select line ?

DST CHUCK: The movie was written and filmed very quickly, so there was not time to execute a full figure. It is way to early to say if we will make movies from the follow up movie, but none are planned for First Class.

Hi Art Asylum My Question Is Did You Ever Think About Making Jean Claude Van Damme Movies Figures Like Cyborg,Double Impact ,Death Warrant, Or Street Fighter Movie Figures And 1984 A-Team,Croba(Stallone),Barbarian Twins(Peter&David)Rapid Fire(Brandon Lee),Jackie Chan,Last Action Hero Movie Figures? Thanks For Your Time

DST CHUCK: Jeremy, I think something like the old N2 Toys Hardened line would be cool with a mix of action stars from different movies, but it’s not something we’re looking into at this time.

Alice: Madness Returns Card Guard Action Figure, Diamond Select Toys

When American McGee created his vision for Alice in Wonderland with his first game in 2000, it quickly became a cult hit amongst gamers. I recently reviewed the Diamond Select Toys Alice: Madness Returns action figure. That was not the only figure made in that line though, and today I’ll be taking a look at the Alice: Madness Returns Card Guard action figure. Review – The Hulk – The Avengers (Movie), Marvel Select

Marvel Select Legends Hulk Avengers Movie Captain America Iron Man Thor Mark Ruffalo Joss Whedon

While figure collectors everywhere are still waiting with baited breath for the Hasbro 6″ movie Avengers figures to hit retail, Marvel Select has just released a figure of the Hulk from the movie. My local comic shop, Keith’s Comics in Dallas, TX, got them in yesterday. I went and picked one up and felt the need to review him right away!

Mark Ruffalo did a fantastic job as Bruce Banner, and the Hulk in the Avengers movie. That’s right, that was Ruffalo, doing some motion capture acting for Hulk, so it would be entirely his performance. I love that.

And as much as I am still very much going to buy the 6″ Hasbro movie Hulk, I couldn’t resist picking up this green behemoth as well!

Keep reading to find out if Hulk smashed (go I hate myself for that) my expectations.
